Smithfield has no shortage of places to chow down, but it’s tough to visit when you know you’ll come up short when the check arrives.
Fear not, budget-conscious connoisseurs – between Jan. 30 and Feb. 7, many Smithfield eateries will offer special reduced price lunch and dinner selections. The menus include appetizers, entrées and a dessert. The reduced price doesn’t cover tax, tip or drinks.

14 restaurants, both in historic downtown and around the town, will participate in this year’s restaurant week, including local mainstays like Smithfield Station and The Smithfield Inn.
Also during restaurant week, visitors can get a peek inside the new Wharf Hill Brewing Co., the long-awaited brewpub located at the north end of Main Street in historic downtown. The brewpub has been under construction since last summer and is expected to open soon.
The “Almost-Open-For-Business” open house tours will run between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 4, 5 and 7. An evening open house, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., will be held on Feb. 6.
